The Blue Biodiversity project explored innovative initiatives that could help restore and increase the biodiversity of Copenhagen’s water bodies. Over the course of fourth months, the team studied Copenhagen canals’ ecosystems and marin biodiversity. The falcons developed an artificial reef consisting of a steel cage, filled with oyster shells and rocks. It offers ideal surfaces for small organisms to attach and fishes to hide within. This solution is implemented in a area where natural surfaces have been replaced with quay-walls.
